Young adult members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from Sydney came together recently to support the Syrian Refugee Appeal. They spent the day packing much needed donations into boxes to be shipped to Syria.
The young adults were able to pack 100 individualised boxes of much needed supplies including bed frames, toiletries, towels, and food.
The event was held at Sackville St Public School in Ingleburn with local school principal Mr Mike Newcomb in attendance. One participant, Tracey Bryers commented, “The project was seen as a great way to engage with the community and do something different.”
The experience was also a positive one for volunteering Syrian Refugee Crisis Appeal staff. Mohammad, of Liverpool, commented, “I have never seen so many young people wanting to get involved. It is such an amazing day for God to work wonders.” From this experience he sees excitement about future opportunities for both the Single Adults and for the Syrian Refugee Appeal to work together.
