Being Quicken by the Spirit

Being quicken by the spirit of the Lord is a most wonderful experience, many things happening at the same time. It starts off small, and slow, and then crescendos in intensity, becoming a wave type feeling, fluctuating, and repeating itself. It is as one is warming, heating, or boiling water, as the spirit within man seems to and does expand, enlarged, and swell, which can then be felt, as the heart races to a faster beat, and can be felt in the chest, and or, throughout the whole body of man, urging one then, to take some action, as in the bearing of ones testimony, or just realizing, or understanding the truthfulness of the experience and also what was said.

The throat can swell causing a tightness or constriction of the muscles making it difficult to breath. This happens at the quickening greatness height. When I had the experience I had to be released from this quickening, for I could not abide it, at its greatest height, for I had difficulty breathing, fearing that I was being consumed by this spiritual quickening. Quickening is the function of the spiritual sense of hearing, where the inner man, or the spirit within man, on hearing a truth or a testimony, can then be initiated into this forthcoming process. Again at the height of being quicken it seems that I was being overcome by the spirit, enlightening, and enlivening my understanding, my heart and the spirit within. The spiritual man is then made stronger more vibrant, discerning and perceiving the things of God.

In the end I was brought down to normalcy, yet remembering vividly the afore mentioned experience
My remarks above and the writing on quickening, I can put it into words, for I indeed had the experience and many more times since, yet none so great as this experience.

1Cor: 15:44 – 45 It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body. And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.

D&C: 67:11 -13 For no man has seen God at any time in the flesh, except quickened by the Spirit of God. Neither can any natural man abide the presence of God, neither after the carnal mind. Ye are not able to abide the presence of God now, neither the ministering of angels; wherefore, continue in patience until ye are perfected

D&C: 138:29 And as I wondered, my eyes were opened, and my understanding quickened, and I perceived that the Lord went not in person among the wicked and the disobedient who had rejected the truth, to teach them;

D&C: 88:48 – 50 I say unto you, he hath seen him; nevertheless, he who came unto his own was not comprehended. The light shineth indarkness, and the darkness comprehendeth it not; nevertheless, the day shall come when you shall comprehend even God, being quickened in him and by him. Then shall ye know that ye have seen me, that I am,and that I am the true light that is in you, and that you are in me; otherwise ye could not abound.

Moses: 6:65 And thus he was baptized, and the Spirit of God descended upon him, and thus he was born of the Spirit, and became quickened in the inner man.
