According to Mormon Newsroom, Sister Pearse is the first New Zealander to win the world final since 1994. She was selected to represent her country in June 2016. When she participated in the pageant “she proved to be a unique beauty pageant contestant when she selected ‘modesty in attitude and dress’ as her platform,” Mormon Newsroom reported.
“But most of all we thank our Heavenly Father for … Everything!,” her parents posted on Facebook.
She served as a self-supported missionary for 18 months in Brisbane Australia.
