Salt Lake City Utah, USA
“Missionary service is the lifeblood for many churches across the nation, yet long and unpredictable visa delays are taking a toll on those who have answered the call to serve,” the senator told the Deseret News.
The senator proposed a bill to help the church and other religious organizations to speed up the process. Currently the church needs approval for a nonimmigrant visa before a missionary receives his/her mission call, the process will take 6 – 9 months.
The new bill could potentially cut that time down to a matter of weeks according to LDS Living.
