The The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is inviting people around the world to celebrate the Easter season by attending a Palm Sunday worship service and watching its upcoming global general conference.
In a message released March 15, leaders of the church encouraged members to invite friends, family members, and neighbors to a special one-hour Palm Sunday service at local chapels on March 29, 2026. The following weekend, April 4–5, the public is also invited to watch the church’s semiannual General Conference of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, which this year will highlight Easter and the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
The invitation comes in a video message featuring members of the church’s First Presidency, who each shared brief testimonies about Christ and the significance of Easter.
D. Todd Christofferson spoke about God’s love and the promise of eternal life through Christ’s sacrifice.
“Our Heavenly Father loves us perfectly,” he said. “Because of this love, He gave His Only Begotten Son so that we might have everlasting life. As we focus on the life, ministry and Resurrection of Jesus Christ this Easter season, we remember that He is our Advocate and Redeemer.”
He added that Christ’s atoning sacrifice makes possible immortality and eternal life, as well as peace and joy in the present.
Henry B. Eyring emphasized the hope that comes through Christ’s resurrection.
“Jesus Christ broke the bands of death,” Eyring said. “Because of Him, every one of Heavenly Father’s children will rise again with a perfected, resurrected body that will never die.” He said that promise can bring hope to those grieving the loss of loved ones and provide anticipation of future reunions.
Dallin H. Oaks testified that Easter represents the ultimate expression of divine love.
“This Easter season, we testify that Jesus Christ is risen. He lives. He is the way,” Oaks said. “His atoning sacrifice and Resurrection are the ultimate evidence of God’s love.”
Church leaders said Christ’s Atonement is a universal gift made possible through the love of both God the Father and Jesus Christ.
The church’s global general conference, broadcast from Salt Lake City, is held twice a year and typically features sermons and messages from senior church leaders to members worldwide.
