The European Union Office of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints released the following statement after a terror attack in Vienna:
With dismay and great alarm, we learned about the horrific attacks in Vienna. On behalf of members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Europe, we express our heartfelt condolences to the families and friends of the victims. We mourn with those who have lost a loved one. We wish healing to body and soul to those who have been injured. Our prayers are with all who are native to Austria and its capital Vienna. May comfort and peace overcome sorrow and fear.
The shooting began at 20:00 (19:00 GMT) on 2 November near the synagogue on Seitenstettengasse, when a heavily armed man opened fire on civilians outside cafes and restaurants.
4 people were fatally shot and 23 others were wounded. 13 of them by bullets.
