BYU waives SAT and ACT requirement until 2024 due to COVID-19

Brigham Young University will not require SAT or ACT test scores for admission for Spring 2021 through Winter 2024.

Due to the limited availability of ACT and SAT exam options during the COVID-19 global pandemic, most applicants are not required to submit a standardized test score to be considered for admission to BYU for spring 2021 through winter 2024.

By temporarily suspending the entrance examination, BYU joins a growing umber of schools across the country who also made the same decision to help students during these difficult times.

Other requirements for admission will still be required. Due to the decision to suspend standardized testing, BYU expects an influx of students applying to the University. A more competitive admissions might be the potential result of this decision.

BYU still encourages students to submit test results if they feel it would strengthen their application.

BYU will only consider the highest overall composite score it receives in its evaluation. The university does not use a super score for either ACT or SAT.
