Sara Duterte, the Philippine vice president and daughter of former president Rodrigo Duterte, visited the Davao Philippines Temple during its public open house. She was welcomed by Elder Eduardo Argana, Rizaldito Castro, Haidi Fajardo, and other Church leaders. During her visit, Duterte expressed that she felt a profound sense of peace, reflecting the sacred atmosphere of the temple.
Rodrigo Duterte II, a relative and current vice mayor of Davao City, also toured the temple on a separate date during the open house. Visitors attending the tours warmly greeted the dignitaries and took the opportunity to request photographs, which were graciously allowed.

The Davao Philippines Temple is operated by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, whose members regard temples as sacred spaces distinct from regular meetinghouses, stake centers, and tabernacles used for weekly worship. Temples serve as central places for performing sacred ordinances, offering members a place for personal reflection, prayer, and spiritual growth.
The public open house for the Davao temple ran from March 26 through April 10, 2026, ahead of its dedication, marking an important milestone for the growing Church community in the Philippines.
