Renowned Filipino historian Xiao Chua visited the Bacolod Philippines Temple during its ongoing public open house, describing the experience as both educational and meaningful. The visit allowed him to tour the temple’s interior, which features symbolic design elements intended to represent sacred ordinances and teachings central to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Chua noted that entering an actual temple provided a deeper perspective compared to visitor centers or informational exhibits. He emphasized that the temple’s spaces reflect themes of family, continuity, and religious commitment, which help explain core aspects of the faith to non-members.

The historian said the experience contributed to a broader public understanding of the church’s beliefs and practices, particularly in relation to temple worship. He also acknowledged the significance of the open house format, which allows members of the public to view the building before its formal dedication.

The Bacolod Philippines Temple open house continues until May 2, 2026, except on Sundays. After dedication, access will be limited to members with a temple recommend, in accordance with church practice.
