The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and Operation Smile Peru participated in the XXIX International Surgical Program in Lima, Peru, providing free medical evaluations and surgeries for children with cleft lip and palate conditions. The program took place from April 14 to 27, 2026, at the National Hospital Daniel A. Carrión and involved national and international medical specialists, hospital personnel, and more than 30 Church volunteers.

During the campaign, 116 medical evaluations and 72 surgeries were completed, primarily benefiting pediatric patients. Volunteers assisted with logistics, patient care support, and accompaniment for families throughout the program.

The initiative also included medical training activities and the use of Church facilities for evaluations and healthcare instruction. The program formed part of ongoing cooperation between the Church and Operation Smile Peru to support child health services in different regions of the country.
