On Thursday afternoon, June 11, the Health Ministry of Peru received 25 ICU beds, 10 infusion pumps, and 3 transport incubators from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The donated medical equipment will help the Government’s expansion plan for hospitals to combat the rising COVID-19 cases in the country.
The head of the Ministry of Health, Víctor Zamora Mesía, gladly accepted the donations and thanked the Church on behalf of the patients who will benefit from it.
“This is a great surprise because they told me that they’re donating beds, but when I see the incubators, it gave me joy and hope that we can save more lives. I want to deeply thank the Church”, he said.
According to the Church, 19 IC7 model ICU beds were distributed to the provisions of the Operations Command COVID-19 while the remaining 6 was sent to hospitals in the Lima region. 3 transport incubators and 10 infusion pumps were also sent to the Mobile Emergency Care System.
