Korean Christians from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints joined together on November 22, 2025, to host a “Neighbor Love Kimchi Sharing” event, donating 3,000 kilograms (approximately 6,600 pounds) of kimchi to families and social welfare organizations across the region. The donation included 2,000 kilograms delivered through the Namdong-gu Office in Incheon and additional portions provided to other local welfare centers serving vulnerable populations.
The event brought together approximately 200 participants, including church members, missionaries, community volunteers, and representatives from organizations such as the Korean Religious Leaders Solidarity (URI Korea). Volunteers of all ages and backgrounds worked together in a spirit of cooperation and service, reflecting the values of generosity and unity.
On the morning of the event, participants gathered at 7 a.m., offered a prayer at 9 a.m., and began preparing the kimchi. Working together, they successfully completed the 3,000-kilogram batch in a short time. Many participants described the experience as meaningful and uplifting, with one volunteer noting, “We were able to unite with each other while the Holy Spirit was with us,” and another sharing, “Volunteering together with my family strengthened our trust and love for one another.”

The completed kimchi will be distributed to vulnerable groups, including elderly residents living alone, low-income families, children in need, and local social welfare facilities. The donation is expected to provide warmth and comfort during the winter months to those most in need.
“Oh, I hope that the kimchi we prepared with care will bring warmth to the winter tables of our neighbors,” said one organizer. “It was a meaningful experience to serve alongside so many local organizations and volunteers. We look forward to continuing activities that promote love, service, and community support.”
A representative from the Namdong-gu Office expressed appreciation for the effort, stating, “Homemade kimchi is not just food; it provides comfort and warmth. We are deeply grateful to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and all the volunteers for their generosity.”
This event demonstrates the ongoing commitment of Korean Christians from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to serve their communities, bridging generations and faiths to support those in need and share the message of compassion and service.
