Johanesburg South Africa
Mormon Newsroom South Africa confirms that all missionaries, members and church buildings are safe after the Tornado in Johanesburg.
The Newsroom published a news article stating that:
26 July in Centurion Stake, South Africa, a tornado touched down and ripped through Tembisa, a densely populated township in the outskirts of Johannesburg . The Church has 3 wards there. While the tornado caused extensive damage to homes, the main mall and property, all missionaries, members and church buildings are safe and unharmed.
President Ernest Makgomarela who lives right in Tembisa said ” I was helping my son with his homework when we heard an incredible noise, we rushed outside to see the tornado moving towards us, fortunately, it started to change direction and our house was miraculously unharmed”. “The tornado caused much damage and injury. No members or missionaries have been hurt. No one in the community has died in the wake of the tornado. These are even more signs of the times, we are grateful for God’s protection”. He added.
