Three people, including a 5-year-old girl, were injured in a shooting early Sunday morning, according to the Weber County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded around 1 a.m. on August 31 after receiving a 911 call reporting that a man had been shot near 9300 West and 900 South. While deputies were on their way, additional calls indicated there may be multiple victims.
When authorities arrived, they found a large gathering in the area with several vehicles leaving the scene. A man in his early 20s was discovered with a gunshot wound to the head. He was flown to the hospital in critical condition.
Deputies also located a young girl, just 5 years old, suffering from a gunshot wound to her leg and hip, as well as another man with a gunshot wound to the shoulder. Both were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
“Our detectives are currently speaking to all the witnesses that were in the area and are working to identify a suspect,” the sheriff’s office said in a press release. “This remains an active and ongoing investigation. No further information will be given at this time.”
Authorities are asking anyone with information about the shooting to contact Weber Area Dispatch at 801-395-8221 and reference case number 25WC30717.
This is a developing story. Updates will be provided as more details become available.
