Boy Samuel Called by the Lord (God Appears in a Night Vision to the Boy Prophet Samuel), by Harry Anderson (62498); GAK 111; GAB 18; Primary manual 1-42; Primary manual 3-70; Primary manual 6-35; 1 Samuel 3
The nature of God is both diverse and complex and of course incomprehensible for us humans, yet there are things we can know, and or, explain, yet in our human language, realizing there is a infinite more, that we do not comprehend.
God is love, and therefore love flows from Him, yet His essence is love. The light that flows from Him is the Divine Truth, yet, the warmeth in that light is from His Divine Love. The truth without this love, can be compared to the winter, cold, torpid, brittle, and hard, where nothing grows or come to fruition. Where as when this light is accompanied with the warmeth of love, it is as if in the springtime, where the light is soften, and therefore things shoot or spout up from the ground, or from the ground of man, which if nurtured and nourished, they will then burst forth, and first bud, then blossom, and finally flower into things wondrous, delightful, and beautiful.God first loved us, and invites us all to come unto him. Love itself desires to be loved in return and inasmuch as it is, it is in its delight and enjoyment. We perfect our love, first from Him, through His enabling power, and by His bounteous Divine Providence, and Foresight. We reciprocate His love by worshiping, overcoming obstacles, and temptations, serving, being obedient, and building up the Kingdom of God. All love, good, and truth comes from Him, as the scriptures attest in Either 4. As Divine Truth comes forth from Divine Love, The Only Begotten Son comes forth from the Father, for Christ is the word or Divine Truth, and the most important Divine Truth is to love our neighbor as our self, which is mutual love, or charity, or the pure love of Christ. Other loves, goods, Godly affections, and righteousness flows from, and are a continuation of these two great loves.

Divine Providence is that God has provided all things needed and all things necessary for our return to His presence. Divine Foresight is that God sees all, and then plans a way for our escape from all trials, temptations, mishaps, and obstacles in our life, yet He doesn’t necessarily do it quickly. He is most concerned with the extension and the building up of our faith, that it might mature, so that we might become spiritually strong, strengthen by our experiences.

He is Omniscience, all knowing. For The Lord to know something general, let’s say Joseph Smith living near the Hill Cumorah where the golden plates, the Book of Mormon, was hidden, He would also have to know all the particulars even singulars leading up to that event. The particulars and singulars of all things are tuck within and are prior, as mans spirit is prior and within the natural body. Therefore the particulars and singulars of any general event that happens, are tuck within and are prior to that general event. I bear testimony of this for I have been shown this by some unique experiences. The Lord God knows all things past, present, and future, for the past and future are before Him as the present. Again for the Lord to know an general event many thousands of years before it happens, He would have to know everything, or all the events in the whole world, leading up to that event. Oh, the Omniscience of our God Almighty. It is in these singulars and particulars, that we also find a confirming and vouching effect on a general doctrinal principal.

Example: The atonement of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is the general doctrinal principal, and all things that point toward that atonement or help explain it in a confirming way, are the particulars and the singulars, and are tuck within that general principal!

Truth has infinite extensions and is bound up to a host of others. We can’t begin to fathom, comprehend, or even understand the higher truths and or how they all are interrelated, interconnected or connected one to another.

He is Omnipresent or everywhere present.

“And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, Who is worthy to open the book, and to loose the seals thereof?  And no man in heaven, nor in earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the book, neither to look thereon. And I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open and to read the book, neither to look thereon. And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.”

Christ is the only one that can determine who is to be redeemed, meaning, looking at all the acts of everyone, and then visiting and examining every heart and mind of man. He can do this, because He is in there present, the light of life within, and therefore is also all knowing. He is in the sun and the light of the sun. He is in the moon and is the light of the moon. He is the light of the stars and the earth also, even the earth upon which we stand, and the power thereof by which they were all made.

The light which shineth which giveth us light is through Him who enlightens our eyes, which is the same light that quickens our understanding, which proceeds forth from the presence of God, to fill the immensity of space. The light which is in all things, which giveth life to all things, which is the law by which all things are governed, even the power of God who sitteth upon His throne, who is in the bosom of eternity, who is in the midst of all things. He is everywhere present for His light is in all places and all things including man himself.

He is omnipotent, all powerful. He is a God of Order. All things are possible if it is according to the laws of order. All great things, miracles, creations, happenings, are accomplished according to these laws of order. God is order Himself and therefore can not act contrary to these Laws of Order, for to do so would be to act contrary to Himself. By the power and by the principles of Faith and the Priesthood, all things are performed, created, made and accomplished, as stated in the Doctrine in Covenants section 88.

God is perfect in His Justice and in His Mercy.

The Divine good or the Love of God adjudges, or wills to raise all to heaven, but the Divine truth or Justice of God, condemns all to hell; and therefore unless the Lord’s Mercy, which is of good and love, were eternal, all men, however many, would be condemned, for no, there is not one that as not sin!

And no unclean thing can enter into his kingdom; therefore nothing entereth into his rest save it be those who have washed their garments in my blood, because of their faith, and the repentance of all their sins, and their faithfulness unto the end. 3Nephi 27

The Lord judges all from justice, and hears all from mercy. He judges from justice because from the Lords Divine Truth, and He hears from Mercy because from His Divine Good; from justice, He judges those who are not willing to receive the good from the Lord’s love, and from mercy He hears those who are willing to receive from His love. But still when He judges from justice, it is also at the same time from mercy; for in all Divine justice there is mercy, as in Divine Truth there is Divine Good. For the Lord to be a perfect God, He has to be perfect in justice, love, mercy, and the handling of all truth, all in the past, present, and future, at not only at the same time, but in the intermingling of them all. Oh the Greatness and perfection of our Wonderest and Almighty God.

The kingdom of God is not in word but in power. It matters not that the people have the word of God, the Bible, Book of Mormon, and other scriptures laid open before them. There is no salvation in these alone, for we must possess the power that comes from God through these scriptures, with priesthood blessings, gifts of the Holy Ghost and of the spirit, inspirations, revelations, yea even dreams and visions, miracles, and other glorious manifestations of God. All these things, through the ordinances, covenants, and obedience to the laws and commandments of the gospel give the saints their power. I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ for it is the power of God unto salvation. The power to elevate us in holiness and cleanliness, in faith and in charity. The power to think and speak the truth with soberness, to preach the gospel. The power to will and act in righteousness, charity, and in love, setting an example for all. The power to overcome temptations, to strip ourselves from the shackles of sin, so that the truths and the goods of the gospel may be confirmed within? Thereby gaining knowledge, truths of faith, intelligence, and wisdom. The power to invite others to come unto the gospel, so that they may be partakers of salvation, and have everlasting joy. The power to overcome the natural man, to become a new creature, to be of a new quality, to be born anew, to then return to the presence of God. The power to seal families for time and for all eternity, and even to mend broken families to heal them, that they may me reunited and joined together becoming one in harmony and in family unity. Indeed we must pay the price to have a certain wanting and a groaning within our souls for His love, and for His light, and for the precious things of the Gospel of Christ. Amen and Amenl
