The last five years have been a huge journey of faith since I quit my job and began my journey as a self-employed blogger/YouTuber (check out my next big project, Lifey). When I quit my job I had zero income and little idea what I was doing….BUT I had conviction that I was doing the right thing, that I was pursuing the path Heavenly Father was leading me down. And, I couldn’t be happier with the decision I made to jump ship and start to dream big.

In this blog post I want to share with you a little bit of my journey and lessons I’ve learned. I recognize that not everyone will agree with my points of view, and that’s totally fine, I’m used to it.

Here are few things I’ve learned about faith and entrepreneurship:

  • Anything is possible if we align ourselves with God’s will.
  • Faith, purity, and commitment are essential to worthwhile success.
  • You can make a difference in the lives of millions of people.

Anything is possible if we align ourselves with God’s will
Let me start off by sharing a scripture.

“And whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, which is right, believing that ye shall receive, behold it shall be given unto you.” -3 Nephi 18:20

That’s pretty incredible! And yes, you read it right- anything you ask God, which is right, believing that ye shall receive be given you. Sounds too good to be true, but it’s not. If you believe it’s too good to be true, than it is… If you truly believe this promise, you can apply it in your life with miraculous results.

The only things that limits our access to this promise is our lack of obedience and faith (they go together). The more we obey God’s commandments, the greater faith and confidence we have in God and in His power. The greater faith and confidence we have in God and our personal worthiness, the greater access we have to Heavenly help.

I believe the best way to make a difference is to seek partnership with God- to align our will with His. And from my experience the best way to serve God is to earnestly seek to serve His children. Never has revelation or heavenly help come easier than when on an inspired errand to serve His children.

Purity, vision and commitment are essential to worthwhile success.
Purity

>”If ye are purified and cleansed from all sin, ye shall ask whatsoever you will in the name of Jesus and it shall be done. But know this, it shall be given you what you shall ask.” – D&C 50:29-30

From this scripture we learn about the importance of purifying our lives from sin to gain access to heavenly help. I thoroughly believe this. If we for example watch violent or immoral videos, or listen to inappropriate music, we may very well be sacrificing a life of incredible potential and Celestial excitement, for a mess of media pottage.

Vision

>”Where there is no vision, the people perish” -Proverbs 29:18

From this scripture we learn about the importance of vision. I personally believe that while there are 100s of unique paths we could have for our life, Heavenly Father knows the one best path we should take. And to the extent that we earnestly seek His inspiration, Heavenly Father can give us dreams, visions, promptings and inspired desires to take the paths in life He would like us to take.

The Holy Ghost can pin point us in the exact best direction for our life if we seek Heaven’s help, are worthy and willing, and exercise our faith. When you receive an errand from the Lord you’ll become that much more confident in your vision for the future, because it’s not only your vision, but it’s Heavenly Father’s vision for your life.

Commitment
Purity and vision won’t do much good if you’re not committed to acting on your vision- to doing everything you can to fulfill the vision the Lord has helped you see. The two traits I see common among all of the most successful modern entrepreneurs (e.g. Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerburg, Jeff Bezos, etc.) is their vision and their commitment to do whatever it takes to carry out their vision.

You can make a difference in the lives of millions of people
Don’t let yourself be fooled. You, yourself, can change the world, if you believe you can.

You don’t need to be good looking, athletic or well-connected in order to change the world. All you have to have is a clear vision of what you should do in the world and a faith-filled commitment to do everything you can do make that vision a reality.

Now more than ever before it’s easier to impact millions of people via the internet and related technologies.

In summary– you have incredible potential. All you need to do to reach your potential is be obedient, seek God’s will, receive God’s will and try with all your heart to do God’s will. As Ezra Taft Benson once said,

Men and women who turn their lives over to God will find out that he can make a lot more out of their lives than they can. He will deepen their joys, expand their vision, quicken their minds, strengthen their muscles, lift their spirits, multiply their blessings, increase their opportunities, comfort their souls, raise up friends, and pour out peace. Whoever will lose his life to God will find he has eternal life.

I know God lives.I’m forever grateful for the gifts of guidance that He’s given me over my five years of entrepreneurship. I know that we have more potential than we currently realize. As we exercise faith in God, He can lift our vision, strengthen us, and prepare the way before us. If we make His quest, our quest (to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man), we can do amazing things in this life and, be filled with the sense of purpose, excitement and vision that we long for.

In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
