The Church of Jesus of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saint have donated 20,000 pounds of food to help feed the hungry in Richmond, Virginia, September 29, 2017. The church effort will feed the hungry this fall and winter according to Mormon Newsroom.
“We know that hunger is a problem,” the first lady told one reporter. “It’s Hunger Action Month, and so this is our way in the Commonwealth of Virginia of making sure we’re raising awareness, getting the word out and also thinking together with partnerships.”
The first lady and her husband thanked the contribution of the church. The church will again make a donation this October.
