The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints have confirmed in a statement that the Nuku’alofa Tonga Temple and all chapels have been inspected and are without damage.
Other assessment and aid delivery are ongoing.
On 2022 January 14, a very large eruption on Hunga Tonga trigged a tsunami that swept the the kingdom.
At least three people were killed, some missing, and injured from the tsunami waves up to 49 ft (15 m).
Two drowned in Peru when a 6’7 feet (2 m) wave struck the coast. It is likely the largest volcanic eruption in the 21st century since Mt. Pinatubo in the Philippines.
